Welcome to the School of European mathematical society on

Four main speakers deliver a series of three lectures on recent mathematical (PDE) theories relevant to processes involving fluids. This is a very broad field and the school aims to provide different possible views on solving theoretical problems in fluid mechanics and related areas. Ample time within the school is allocated for the promotion of informal scientific discussions among the participants.

Speakers and topics of the 2024 school (see also the Program):

• Paolo Antonelli (Gran Sasso Science Institute, L'Aquila, Italy), An introduction to the mathematical theory of quantum fluids.
• Noemi David (Camille Jordan Institut, University of Lyon, France), Singular limits arising in mechanical models of tissue growth.
• Vincent Giovangigli (CMAP, Ecole Polytechnique, France), Mathematical modeling of multicomponent reactive flows from the kinetic theory.
• John Lowengrub (University of California, Irvine, USA), Growth, patterning, and control in fluid flows out of equilibrium.

The school is organized under the auspices of the European Mathematical Society (EMS) and Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague (MFF UK), as an activity of the Nečas Center for Mathematical Modeling.

Financial support covering (part of) the conference fee is available for students, early career participants and participants with limited resources. The applications for the support together with a short curriculum vitae to be sent to the conference email by February 15, 2024.

The deadline for registration, submission of abstracts, and payment is April 15, 2024.
